Pradosh Vrat in August 2025

There are 24 Pradosh Vrat in 2025 for the Delhi region — usually two per lunar month, one in each paksha.

Pradosh kaal is the roughly two-and-a-half-hour period around sunset (from sunset until about 2h24m later) when Shiva worship is performed on Trayodashi. Each date shows when it begins.

A Pradosh falling on Saturday (Shani Pradosh) is considered especially powerful for relief from Saturn-related difficulties; Som Pradosh (Monday) is favoured for wishes and marriage.

Devotees traditionally fast through the day, bathe before dusk, and perform Shiva puja during pradosh kaal — offering water, bilva (bel) leaves and a lamp, and reciting the Pradosh Vrat katha. Practice varies by family; the merit is said to lie in devotion, not strictness.

Many keep a nirjala or waterless fast until the evening puja and break it afterwards; others take fruit and milk through the day. It is a personal choice — the puja is done in the pradosh kaal shown for each date.

By tradition each weekday's Pradosh has its own benefit — Som (Mon) for wishes, Bhaum (Tue) for health and debt, Shani (Sat) for Saturn relief, Guru (Thu) for protection. These are traditional beliefs, not guarantees.
